In a recent video that went viral, New York City’s mayor–elect Zohran Mamdani declared it’s time to “empower small businesses – not bury them in fines, fees and endless bureaucracy.” Mamdani, who just won a hard-fought mayoral race on an affordability agenda, has pledged to slash small-business fines and expedite permitting.

Yes, there is. Your problem is you seem to think "evil corporate abusers" and "everyday people" are two different species that anyone can tell apart at a glance.
I am happy to see this happening, better late than never.
If Dems want power they need to demonstrate competence in governing in places like CA.
That means making government efficient and cost effective.
And it means not strangling the private sector with burdensome red tape that does more harm than good.
( Which of course does not mean that all regulation is bad)
